Give up!"(first time only) He rolls towards you and shoots lasers. Run in a zig-zag fashion and go underneath him. "See if you can make it through here, Sonic! " Perform four jumping strikes in a row to hit him in three sensors, the head and jump to the next platform. "All systems... full power!" The opposite platform is destroyed. "It's no Use! Give Up!" Dr. Robotnik sends two spiked tea-cups after you. Jump on top of a tea-cup as it rushes towards you. When it retracts, you are near the cockpit. Then jump into mid-air and strike Dr. Robotnik. "He's not going to get away with this!" 'I only have one hit point left!' When the Egg Viper is burning and exploding, run to one of the end platforms. A) The 'Chao Adventure' VMU game (120 memory blocks). Here are some of the VMU game details that are not covered in the instruction manual. Map: Tower City Oasis Ocean Desert Beach Shrine Cliff Desert Trees Woods River Waste Jungle Cave After the first VMU trip, your Chao thinks it is lost. After the second VMU trip, your Chao is exhausted. Also, two new VMU batteries will last for about 7 or more full Chao adventures. Memory Game Prizes: no mistakes : Lifenut, Hasnut, Starnut or Chaonut one or two mistakes: Grape, Lemon, Cherry, or Plum Prizes: Hasnut speed x2 Lazynut Chao gets stuck Grape run +4 Chaonut punch, swim, run and fly +4 each Starnut punch x2 Lemon swim +4 Cherry pow +4 Plum fly +4 Lifenut Recover all HP If eaten the the Chao garden, all nuts only give +2 HP. The Chao garden coconuts give +1 HP. Speed and Punch attributes only count for the VMU game. They are not used in the races. B) Chao Gardening (28 memory blocks). Chao can win emblems by placing first in a Chao race. Once the first four race emblems are won, a special fifth race appears. There are five racing emblems to win. Press any button to chear for your Chao when it sparkles during the race. Your Chao then gets a burst of speed. Sapphire Race: Run and Swim should be 200 or more. Ruby Race: Swim should be 200 or more. Pearl Race: Pow should be 200 or more. Amythest Race: Run and Swim should be 200 or more. Watch out for Chao distractions, such as trumpets, shovels, and flowers that need water. Emerald Race: All attributes should be 300 or more. A Chao's racing ability is determined by four attributes: run, swim, fly and pow. The higher they are, the better the Chao will do in the races. To build their attributes in the Chao garden, pick up a rescued animal and hold it in front of the Chao. The Chao then increases in one attribute, based on the animal. Give a Chao all blue animals, and it will start to look like Sonic! If you hit your Chao, it's abilities decrease. If you hit it enough, your Chao may cocoon and die. A Chao may cocoon upon reaching maturity. It can transform into a new shape with better abilities. Chao also cocoon and die if they are too old. If flowers pop up around the Chao, then it is ready to reproduce. Here is a list of animals you can rescue and what they do to your Chao. A Chao may not like certain animals and get scared when you present them. Animal Attribute Chao Ability Yellow: Penguin Swim+ Snuggle Seal Swim+ Dance in place Sea Otter Swim+ Swimming Purple: Parrot Fly+ Singing Peacock Fly+ Chao becomes stuck-up Swallow Fly+ Dance in circles Green: Rabbit Run+ Backfilps Deer Run+ Bowing Wallaby Run+ Shadow Boxing Red: Gorilla Pow+ Beat a Drum Elephant Pow+ Sumo Wrestling Lion Pow+ Wash face Blue: Kowalla + Blow Trumpet (bad for races) Skunk + Drawing Mole + Dig Holes (bad for races) There are also special colored Chao. Each adventure field has one special egg that these Chao are hatched from. Don't hatch too many of any Chao in one garden. Eight Chao is the suggested maximum for any garden. Silver Chao: Waterfall in Mystic Ruins Gold Chao: Green egg in Station Square shop. Carry the gray rock into the shop. Place it over the pedistol to open the doors again. Carry out the green egg. Make it look like Sonic and you have Super-Sonic! Black Chao: Amy's prison in the egg carrier If you Chao cries or acts sad, shake a tree to get a nut. Feed it to the Chao. It becomes happy. If the Chao goes to sleep, let it sleep. It will wake up full of energy for the next race. Hint: If you place your controller in port D, a Chao puzzle appears on the VMU. Win the game to see VMU Chao animations. IV) Downloads Remember, you may only have one event at a time. A) Millenium Sonic Download this option from the Dreamcast network in the Sonic web browser. Station Square has 'Sonic 2000' posters, and now you can hunt for the hidden millenum rings throughout the game! It takes 62 memory blocks. B) Christmas in Station Square This option is also avaliable for download. The Christmas tree sings a new song when you touch it. This only takes 55 memory blocks. C) 'Black Market' Chao Gain 100+ Emblems and go to the 'black market' on the Dreamcast network using the Sonic web browser. You can download a special Chao. The stats on this Chao are so good it can win all of the races easily. This is a nice way to avoid VERY time consuming Chao rasing. D) To support the fall 2000 release of 'Samba de Amigo', you can download a special Twinkle Circuit track. E) Tremble Park Turn Twinkle Park into Tremble Park for Halloween. This takes 53 memory blocks. F) Dreamcast Launch Party! Banners for the 9-9-1999 Dreamcast Launch and balloons with swirls are placed all over Station Square. This takes 40 memory blocks. You can also view images on your PC if you put the GD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive. vac999@netcarrier.com first copy:11/11/2000 (Armistice/Veterans day) second copy:
