However, for online play you must start a game before you can play. All of the hints presented here are based on offline play. Ship: The sever that controls the game. On ships, 1 to 4 player games can be formed online. Japan has four ships, the US has eight ships and Europe has four ships. Block: Each ship has 16 blocks. Players may only play with other players in their own block. Your block is determined by the name you give your character. Lobby: Here you can chat with others, send mail, exchange guild cards, start an online game or go to another lobby. Announcements are also posted here. Anyone may start a game. Games can also be password protected to let only friends in. Anyone can join a game (may need the password). Finding specific people online is very difficult unless you have traded guild cards with that person. Once you trade guild cards, you may exchange e-mail. Character Classes NOTE: Online you play with up to three teammates. Offline you play alone (the game becomes more difficult). Attributes: AC - defense, AD - dexterity (dodge), HP - hit point quantity, Hlt - damage delt, TD - Technique learning, TP - technique point quantity Hunters Hunters come in three varieties based upon race. Hunters can use sabers, swords, daggers (one in each hand), handguns and the like. They have the most HP and do the most damage, but they are restricted to close combat. For all classes, you can do three attacks in a row by hitting the attack or heavy attack button in one second intervals ( hit button, wait one second, hit button, etc...). HUman (Hunter + Human): AC_3 AD_3 HP_4 Hlt_3 TD_1 TP_1 They are good for close range combat. They can cast some recover and offensive spells. HUweral (Hunter + Newman): AC_3 AD_3 HP_3 Hlt_3 TD_1 TP_2 Just like the human ranger, but better with techniques. HUcast (Hunter + Android): AC_3 AD_4 HP_5 Hlt_3 TD_0 TP_0 It has the most HP of any class, but can not use techniques. All Androids are immune to poison and paralysis. Rangers Rangers can use many or all guns for long range combat. They are weak in short-range combat and techniques. They do less damage than hunters, but from a greater distance. RAmal (Ranger + Human): AC_4 AD_2 HP_3 Hlt_4 TD_1 TP1 They can use most guns and a few techniques. RAcast (Android + Human): AC_3 AD_3 HP_4 Hlt_5 TD_0 TP_0 These huge machine-men can use any guns, but no techniques. RAcaseal (Android + Human): AC_4 AD_2 HP_4 Hlt_5 TD_0 TP_0 This is a smaller, more feminine and more dexterous version of the RAcast. Force Force are the magic users. They can only use frames and barriers for defense. Armor and shields are not allowed. Aside from 'wizardly' weapons, force may use sabers and handguns. There is little or no limit to the techniques they can learn. Almost all physical stats are neglected for spells. But the spells can be very powerful (and they never miss)... FOmarl (Human + Force): AC_2 AD_2 HP_2 Hlt_2 TD_4 TP_4 This is the most balanced of the magic users. Most, but not all techniques may be learned. FOmewn (Newman + Force): AC_1 AD_1 HP_2 Hlt_1 TP_5 TD_5 This male newman can learn all techniques, but physical attributes are sorely neglected. FOnewearl (Newman + Force): AC_2 AD_1 HP_1 Hlt_1 TP_5 TD_5 The female newman can also learn all techniques. Defense is favored instead of hit points. More Costumes! Enter the code as the player name. Now you get two extra colors per player. Humar - KSKAUDONSU Hunewearl - MOUEOSRHUN Hucast - RUUHANGBRT Ramar - SOUDEGMKSG Racast - MEIAUGHSYN Racaseal - NUDNAFJOOH Fomal - DNEAOHUHEK Fonewn - ASUEBHEBUI Fonewearl - XSTGSSHEOH Walkthrough - notes are based on NORMAL difficulty. Damage amounts may be higher for HARD and VERY HARD. Game Difficulty and Special Items If you beat the game in offline mode, the HARD option opens. If you beat the HARD option, then the VERY HARD option opens. You get more special items and experience in these modes. Pioneer 2 The Principal - He gives you your missions. Go see him after you have defeated a boss or learned some clues. A new area might open up on the planet for you to beam down to. Hospital - For 10MST your HP and TP are restored. When you die on Ragol and choose to return to Pioneer 2, you are returned here. Transporter - It teleports you to areas on the planet Ragol. Hunter's Guild - Sign up for missions and earn some extra dough! Additional missions can also be downloaded. Shops - Weapon, Item and armor shops are here. Trekkers, who can identify unknown items, are also here. Each character may get a different Trekker with a different specialty. Check Room - Save additional items and MST here. If you die on Ragol (it happens many times in the beginning, this game is difficult), you loose your equipped weapon and all MST that you carry. Make sure you keep most of your MST here and a spare weapon. The most MST you may bank is 999,999. The first quest is to see if anyone is still alive on Ragol. The Principal's daughter, Red-Ring-Rico, is also missing on the planet. Find information about her too. Forest 1 When you enter an area, there are monsters and gates. The gates won't open until all monsters in the area are defeated, or a button is pressed. Open all gates until you get to the orange transporter to Forest 2. The transporter and starting locations are random, but the map is always the same. Monsters of note: Boomas(and derivatives) (Native) - They try to gang up on you. Their attacks are powerful. Use magic on them when they group together. Different types are vulnerable to different magic types. Boomas hate fire, Goboomas hate lightning and Gigoboomas hate ice. Savage Wolf(and derivatives) (Native) - Stay close to it and keep swinging. If you keep moving, you should avoid it's jump attack. They try to get behind you. Mothmants(Native) - The insects go down with one strike. Hit the insects first, then the pod. Don't let the insects gang up on you. Rappy(Native) - These cartoon-like chicks (the poltry kind) are harmless unless they gang up. They get up and run away after you knock them down. They are vulnerable to fire. Forest 2 It is a darker, rainier version of forest 1. The enemies are tougher, and there are some 'warp' transporters. One 'warp' leads to the stone building. The front door is closed, but a group teleport is nearby. Don't use the group teleport until you are ready to fight the boss. There is also a strange monument... Monster of note: Hilderbar(Native) - It is huge, hits very hard, and breaths fire. It has a hard time hitting you if you stand right in front of it. Distance attacks help too. Lightning does the most damage to it. Boss 1: Dragon (Players should be at least level 4. Being level 6 or 7 is good also.) I strongly suggest you fight bosses online with three other teammates and carry at least 10 monomates each. However, I was able to defeat this boss in single-player offline mode. This dragon is actually quite realistic looking and very fast. It fights in three modes. Ice magic does the most damage. Walking - If you stand in front of it, you'll get hit with it's massive fire breath. Try and run behind it and hit it in it's legs. Daggers are the fastest and most effective weapon here. Most players are stunned by the graphics, then die when the beast first breaths fire. Flying - Stay underneath it to avoid the fire. Only guns can hit it here. Don't be underneath it when it lands. Lightning magic can also hit it while flying. Burrowing - Run laps around the room and stay close to the wall. You are less likely to be hit by the dragon while it is underground. The dragon can not be hurt in this state. (Special Item) *Dragon Slayer ATP480 - A rainbow colored sword used by one who defeated a dragon. It's special attack is a strong fire blast. When the dragon is defeated, take the orange transporter to Pioneer 1 for your next mission. You may now teleport to the 'cave 1'. The natives of Ragol are on a rampage and Rico still cannot be found. The Principal asks you to investigate further... Cave 1 There are many new enemies in this cave. Also, the room may be pitch-black (find the light switch) or there may be land mines (use trap-vision to detect them). A piston may stomp you if you aren't careful. Step switches also appear on this level. A handgun (or at least one ranger) is very useful here. Monsters of note: Evil Sharks(and derivatives)(A. Beast) - They fight like the Boomas. Evil Sharks and Pal Sharks hate fire while Guil Sharks hate lightning. Ivy(A. Beast) - A stationary plant that fires poison bolts. Have antidotes handy. Handguns and rifles can keep you at a safe distance when fighting them. Nano Dragon(A. Beast) - It gets stronger as it kills enemies. It also flies and breaths fire. A handgun or rifle can hit it weather it is on the ground or not. Lightning magic does the most damage to them. Grass Assassin(A. Beast) - A Locusta from PS2? It has a paralyze ray. You won't be able to walk for five seconds if hit. It has a blind spot behind it though. Use fire magic. Cave 2 The lava filled 'cave 1' gives way to a damp mossy 'cave 2' There are even waterfalls and rainbows! Rico also leaves messages about an ancient civilization on Ragol (a second artifact)? Monsters of note: Slimes(A. Beast) - They pop-up to be hit once, then slide around again. Hit them as soon as they pop-up and they won't be able to attack. Cave 3 Cave 3 looks like a high-tech wearhouse built into rock. There are also messages about a worm transforming animals into monsters. Traps from 'cave 1' and 'cave 2' are here, as well as a group teleport machine to the boss. Monsters of note: PanArms(A. Beast) - When the two beasts are joined together, they are vulnerable only to spells. Wait until they break apart, then only physical attacks work. They shoot bolts when together and brandish swords when apart. If you kill one, the other one is stunned. Boss 2: De Rol Le (Players should be at least 17th or 19th level. This fight takes 20 to 30 minutes) This sea worm is difficult to defeat. Hunters with swords and rangers with rifles are suggested. Forces should learn Rafoie before fighting this boss. Be prepared to heal quickly. Also, use a telepipe before the transporter. If you fail, then you may heal and run back to the telepipe portal to try again. The worm has many modes of attack. Spike pass - Spikes are thrown onto the platform as the worm passes on the side and shoots red stuff. The spikes can be destroyed before they explode and the red stuff passes. Run to dodge the red stuff. Cast Rafoie or Razonde while it's close to the platform. Rock pass - The worm swims away, then flies over you, dropping rocks. Do a zig-zag run to avoid falling rocks. As the worm is about to pass over you, you'll see shadows where to rocks are going to fall. Stand and shoot - The worm lifts it's head high in the air and shoots a red beam. Run side-to-side to avoid this. The worm can be shot from here by a ranger. Land on the side with long spikes - This is you big chance to damage the worm. Run side-to side until it misses you with a spike. Then strike the worm's head three times or cast Rafoie/Razonde twice. Repeat until the worm goes back into the water. (Special Item) *PARASITE WEAR:De=Rol LV66 - A special armor the boosts defense and lowers HP. Androids can not wear it. Mine 1: The native animals of Ragol have become violent, something is altering the native animals of Ragol into beasts, an ancient civilization once existed on Ragol, the explosion didn't destroy the central dome, Red Ring Rico is still missing and the people of Pioneer 1 are still missing! Now in the mine(factory) there are machines attacking you! This investigation hasn't answered much yet... The enemies in 'mine 1' are machines. The Slicer is very useful here. A handgun or rifle to shoot flying objects is a must. Have an antiparalysis ready for 'slow' mines. Monsters of note: Gillchic(Machine) - The attacks like a fast Booma. It is knocked back when hit. Lightning damage may stun it. Canadine(Machine) - These fly around and try to surround you. A gun is the best weapon for them. If you kill the red leader, they try to self-destruct (on you). Sinow Beat(and derivatives)(Machine) - It rushes you and attacks with two swords. It can sometimes cause confuse (use antiparalysis). It only has about 150-200 HP, so hit it with something very powerful and fast, like a Buster or Brand. Freeze spells work on them. Machine guns also keep them stunned. If it splits into many, only one is real. Gold Sinow can heal itself and those around it, but has fewer HP than Sinow beat. Gold Sinow is also vunerable to magic while Sinow beat is not. Mine 2: This is a dilapidated version of 'mine 1'. At the end is a group transport to the boss, so be prepared. Also, a third artifact (like the one in 'forest 2' and 'cave 2') is found here, but still no Red Ring Rico. Monsters of note: Dillchic(Machine) - Gillchics that can't be destroyed, unless you destroy their spiked control orb. Garantz(Machine) - A huge missile-firing machine. It fires more missiles as it looses armor. Boss 3: Vol Opt (Players should be 21st or 22nd level) For both forms, use your weapon that does the most damage. Lightning magic is good to use here. Form 1: A worm with an eye travels on the screens on the wall. Electrodes come from the floor to charge up and shock you. Shoot the screen the worm is on. Rapid fire shots may trap it there. Hitting the electrodes may prevent them from shooting lightning. After enough shots the worm stops and the room explodes. Form 2: This form has four parts: The first is a blue eye that fires a blue stun shot. It stuns you while it is vulnerable. You can dodge this one. The second part is a metal gill. When the laser beam tracks you, keep running. This will avoid the six quick stomps that kill most players. The third part is bathed in a yellow light. This heals Vol Opt periodically. The final part fires missiles, similar to the Garantz. Once all four parts are defeated, or Vol Opt takes enough damage to his main body, Vol Opt explodes. Only one part may work at a time. Once a part is destroyed, it no longer works. After taking the items, take the warp to a shrine area. There Rico leaves messages describing a seal. They keys to the seal are the three shrines and three words. Rico gives you the words, but it is up to you to look at the shrines. The Three Shrines Visit the shrines in 'forest 2', 'cave 2' and 'mine 2'. Each shrine glows after being touched. Now return to the boss teleport in 'mine 2'. To get to the ruins, you will fight Vol Opt again (there is no way around this). After that, the seal is now open and you may enter the ruins. Ruins 1 This dark maze seems to be a mix of metal and organic materials. Rico leaves notes about the Pioneer 1 army fighting monsters in here, and losing. She also deciphers the words on the shrines about a cycle of light and dark... Monsters of note: Lemina(and derivatives)(Dark) - A very powerful Booma. Medium and Hard attack spells work well on groups of these monsters. Dark Betha(Dark) - It fights like the Hildebear. It has more HP and can heal itself. It also shoots its claws and can paralyze you when it hits. Carry some anti-paralysis. Del Saber(Dark) - It is invincible from the front. Attack if from the side. Claw(Dark) - a weak enemy that flies around. If they become a Buclaw, it can catch you. Gifoie creates a circle of flame around you, which is great protection against these guys. Chaos Sorcerer(Dark) - He bought some fancy new duds for this game. The levitation is neat too. He has one crystal for attack (unavoidable explosion, 100pts damage) and one for healing. He also teleports around the room. He only has about 200-300 HP, so hit him hard and fast. Ruins 2 Rico has discovered that there is no ancient civilization in Ragol. This is a spaceship sent here from another world. Inside this ship an ancient monster is sealed... Monsters of note: Dark Gunner(Dark) - It shoots when it stands still. It is only vulnerable when it stands still. The damage dealt by these creatures can add up. Chaos Bringer(Dark) - I never remembered it being this difficult to defeat in PS4. Dodge its head-on attack. It's front sword swing is powerful too. Try to get behind it. Ruins 3 It's an organic maze made from the ruins. Red Ring Rico makes some final discoveries and there's one last group transporter... Special Items (may be found after the ruins on NORMAL difficulty): *Double Saber ATP235 -a two-edged saber. It steals TP on special attack. *Light Relief LV17 -a light barrier that is resistant to dark. *DB's Saber ATP265 -a light blue saber with "DB" carved into the hilt. It's special attack does four times normal damage, but it uses 15 TP per hit. *Varista ATA110 -a handgun that causes paralysis with special attack. *Battle Verge MST??? -a cane that takes 1/2 enemies HP with special attack. This is exteremely useful for wizards. *HUNTERFIELD - A light armor for hunters. If two hunters with this armor get too close... *RANGERFIELD - Same as hunter field, but for rangers. *FORCEFIELD - Ha. Ha. Same as hunter field, but for force. *Bladedance ATP365 - Light blue daggers with special paralyze attack. *M&A60 VISE ATA120 - Light blue mechgun that can sacrifice HP for power with special. *Brave Hammer MST??? - ??? *Club of Laconium MST??? - The only Laconian weapon found in the game. It has a special fire attack. *Crush Bullet ATA??? - A shot(crossbow) that steals HP with special. Boss 4: Dark Falz (Players should be at least level 33 before taking on this boss on NORMAL difficulty) Where's the boss? Touch the obolisk if you want to find out... Dark Falz fights in three (or more) phases: 1) Spinners - Hit three of the red spinners to end this phase. Don't let them gang up on you! For HARD difficulty, hit six of them. 2) Three Dragons - As the lead dragon spits out red spinners, hit it in the head. After it stops spitting, run from Dark Falz. Remember to heal after being hit by the explosion of light. Repeat this until the three dragons collapse. Also, don't get trapped behind the dragon when it moves! Dark Falz also looks different depending on your difficulty setting. 3) Winged Body - When the body rises to reveal the stomach, get close to it and hit it as quickly as you can. When it is hidden, run from Dark Falz. Prepare to heal after the explosions of light hit you. Dark Falz also uses freeze and slow spells. 4) Flying Demon - This only appears in HARD mode. In NORMAL mode Dark Falz dies after you beat mode 3. You are on a circle of light surrounding a flying tenticle-laden Dark Falz. Use handguns, other firearms and magic. It will slash you down too quickly if you use close range weapons on it. If it is purple, use a weapon on it. If it glows in rainbow colors, then cast spells on it. Stay away from it to avoid it's close range drop and slash attacks. When small objects appear on the radar, run. Keep running until the blue balls pass you by. Being hit by two of them is almost certain death. It can also cast funky spells to suck the life from you, so be ready to heal often. Be sure to feed it often, or it will loose stats! MAG attributes: Level, Synchro, IQ, Def, Pow, Dex, Mind MAG attacks: Farlla: a Snake-like beast is summoned in a rainbow haze. It does heavy damage to all near you, especially those in the air. This came after Farlla and Mylla&Youlla. Hunter's Guild Quests This is a really nice way to earn experience points and get paid for it. When you complete all the quests in that area, you should ready for that area's boss. The Magnitude of Metal 500MST Talk to the fat man, then talk to the android outside. The search 'forest 1' until you find a pink android named Elenor Camuel (lv 12. She's pink like Mieu from PS3). The search the whole 'forest 1' while she talks to you. When done (she sees the MAG), you will find the last MAG (a shiny spot). Then return to the guild for you reward. Claiming a Steak 700MST Find the greedy Rarton in 'forest 1'. After you find him, then find his three capsules in the 'forest 1'. Finally get Rarton to return to Pioneer 2 and claim the reward. Battle Training 500MST Find an injured hunter on Ragol and a data disk in 'forest 1'. A hunter + android (KIREEK lv 36) with a nasty scythe helps you find them, and teaches you battle technique. Return with the hunter (Ash) and the disk for the reward. KIREEK hopes to meet you again... After a, b and c are cleared, many more hunters guild missions appear. The Value of Money 300MST A wife wants you to convince her husband to stop buying weapons. Talk to the wife, then the husband (select the bottom choice both times), then talk to the wife, then the husband, then the wife again, and finally you can receive your guild money. Journalistic Pursuit 1200MST A damn hot young journalist named Nol Rinale needs protection for a trip to Ragol. Protect her as you travel through 'forest 1' and 'forest 2'. At the end she gets scared and decides to go back. You do find out that the central-dome was not damaged by the explosion... The Fake in Yellow 800MST An assistant wants you to find Dr. Guls. Talk to all the new people on the station (including Elenor Camuel). The go down to 'forest 1' Fight hordes of rag rappys (up to 8 at one time!). The mission ends when you find the one you can talk too three times in a row. This mission is best for players who can hit multiple targets with one blow, like hunters with swords or a powerful force. Native Research 2500MST This one is a bit more difficult. Help Alicia Baz study the animals of Ragol. You have 20 minutes to kill five types of animals in 'forest 1' and 'forest 2' with the weapon you currently have equipped and return to Pioneer 2. Again this mission is best for players who can hit multiple targets with one blow, like hunters with swords or a powerful force.
