1 of 1) There aren't many hidden secrets to Phantasy Star Gaiden. I guess you can't stick too much into a Game Gear game, huh? The only real oddity I found was this little guy. His name is 'HogMan' in the translation, but I've seen him called 'crook' in other places. And I think he's the fourth boss (the other three are Popo's Teacher, Deadalus, and Cablon)! If I'm wrong, then I would love to be corrected simply to learn more about this oddity.

HogMan only appears once in the game (from what I've seen at least). I only fought it once at about level 10, shortly after I beat Popo's teacher. It was a random encounter in the Karakto area (fishing village). It has 100 to 150 HP (I didn't keep track). It is vulnerable to the Hwen spell. It also does only 10 to 20 points of damage per strike and does not cast spells. When you win it says "… sorry, bye!" and runs away. You don't get any XP or MST for the fight.
