NEWS FROM THE WORSHIP TEAM
(From April's Newsletter)

As of this writing we are hoping that you are enjoying the "soup suppers" both by satisfying your stomach and more important: "spiritually." This is yet a "new" venture and hopefully you will prayerfully consider attending the remaining Mid-Week Lent Services. Please follow the Sunday Bulletin for the location. St. Paul's rotation was on Wednesday, March 4 and March 25. There was plenty of soup, bread, beverages and "fellowship." We enjoyed hosting Pastor Quncy and members/friends of St. John's, Richlandtown.

EASTER FLOWERS: There is still time left to reserve an Easter plant. Please be sure to fill out the form provided in the Sunday Bulletin. We can never have enough plants to adorn our Chancel and Worship Center on Easter Sunday!!

New Red Hymnals: Four of the newest hymnals have been purchased. Time and time again we will be using variances from the hymnal to include hymns and Settings to be coordinated by Pastor Kerr and organist, Todd Silvius.

First Communion Update: The age for receiving First Holy Communion is not a fixed criterion. It may fluctuate. Therefore, the age for First Holy Communion will be based on the child's readiness for this important event in one's journey with Christ from Baptism. "Readiness" will be determined via consult with parents, child, Christian Education representative, and the Pastor. Please watch for more information from Pastor Kerr through the Sunday Bulletin and/or Newsletter. The Worship Team supports this venture in the lives of the young members and their families along with Pastor Kerr and the Congregational Council.

HOLY WEEK SERVICES: Watch the Church Bulletin for the times or click the Calendar link at the left; times are also posted on the News page of our website. Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday and concludes with the glorious Resurrection Sunday. We all have been through a JOURNEY, which began on February 25 - Ash Wednesday. Let us continue the journey with repentance and prayer.

A SIMPLE BUT IMPORTANT SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY: On April 19, St. Paul's is scheduled to conduct a Service at 2:00 pm at Independence Court (Quakertown). Other area churches have participated in the past and are scheduled well into the future. If you can help with this ministry, please contact any member of the Worship Team. Also, we will have a "sign-up" sheet in the Narthex. We do need a keyboard individual and a leader for the hymns. The entire ministry is 30 minutes. Please help brighten the lives of others!

USHER REFRESHER COURSE: On April 19, Gordon Bryan is scheduled to lead a "mini" refresher course for the ushers' teams - new participants and those who are currently serving in this most important ministry. This course is open to ALL those who are interested. Please review the Sunday Bulletin as to the exact time and place. Gordon is a fantastic leader and is looking forward to new "recruits." Come on out Confirmands!!! Looking forward to Resurrection Day with great anticipation...

Grace and peace, Pastor Kerr, Alice, Gordon, Anne, Rich, Todd, Linda, Kelly, Shirley (Marie).

FROM THE WORSHIP TEAM
(From March's Newsletter)

Thanks to Pastor Kerr for taking us through the epiphany season...with great sermons (to include his humor). However, we have a lot to look forward to...

Can you believe we are preparing for the season of Lent? Christmas seems like yesterday! However, we have to move on and here's what we have planned with the help of Pastor Kerr and the Worship Team:

MID-WEEK LENT SERVICES: St. Paul's is partnering with St. John's, Richlandtown, and Trinity, Pleasant Valley, during the Wednesdays this Lenten Season.

This program is being coordinated by Pastor Quincey of St. John's, Richlandtown. Here's the agenda: 6:30pm will be a soup & bread supper with beverages (no desserts), followed by a "simple service" and video presentation on "The Parables." St. Paul's will be the host church on March 11 & March 25. For March 11, the Worship Team will coordinate the "Simple Supper". For March 25, the Education Team will coordinate the "Simple Supper."

The Mid-Week Lent Services will be published in our weekly bulletin as to what church will host the service and the date. Please plan to attend. We are very excited about Pastor Quincey's coordination of the mid-week services. Note: All churches will serve soup and bread at 6:30pm.

Thanks to Mrs. Marie Shaw for the excellent job she is doing with the Altar Guild. If you see her in church, please thank her. She has lots of us to deal with...that is challenging right there! And you can even call her "Shirley" (ask her why!).

Linda Hertzog is currently training and recruiting new Crucifers and Acolytes. Please contact Linda or the church office if anyone is interested. It is a great ministry and very well appreciated. The more who sign up, the less each individual has to perform. Let's go youth!!!

Thanks to the greatest Director of Music, Todd Silvius, who is working hard - "cracking the whip" with the choirs during the Lent Season. Feel free to let Todd know after the service how the choir sounded. Better yet, please join us!! All are welcome! It's fun and educating!!

Peace and love,
Pastor Kerr, Alice, Gordon, Kelly R., Ann G., Toddster, Rich, Marie, Linda H., and Gary H.
