President's Corner...
It seems as if it came out of nowhere, and yet, it felt
comfortable and somewhat in accordance with the nature of things at that time. While I am honored
to have been elected as the new church council president, I know I have BIG shoes to fill
and the tasks that follow in the year ahead may be challenging, to say the least. I never dreamed
I'd be the president of any organization, and yet here I am. I keep telling myself that God doesn't
call the qualified...he qualifies the called. It's nice to know I will be supported by such a wonderful group I think
of as my church family. It's reassuring to know that the church council will always be there to help ensure that
things are in order and running smoothly, while casting a vision of what might be in St. Paul's future.
We have been through many changes in the more recent past. It is clear that our congregational dynamics are
resilient enough to deal with change and challenges in a hopeful manner. Our committee leaders and liaisons
are well matched to their responsibilities and are willing to make a time and energy commitment. The underlying
spirit of love and acceptance in our congregation helps to handle changes in staff and leadership in a healthy
manner. Furthermore, it’s impressive to see that our core leadership intentionally shares ministry and leadership
with others, including new members. We are blessed to be St. Pauls and I feel humbled to be your church
council president.
Yours in Christ Jesus our Lord,
Kelly Shaak, Congregational Council President |
